Intro

Nestled just off the parkway in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is the Red Roof Inn. With spacious accommodations, the Red Roof Inn is one of Pigeon Forge's best hotels. Branded under the nationwide Accor Hotel's banner this hotel offers lots of amenities for every member of the family. Some of the most important amenities that persuaded me to label this the absolutely best hotel in Pigeon Forge are listed below.

• Indoor heated pool and whirlpool that is open 24 hours.

• High speed wireless internet access in all rooms.

• Interior corridor

• Guest laundry open 24 hours.

• Microwave and refrigerators in all rooms.

The are just to many fine amenities offered by this hotel to be listed here. You can visit their website to read the complete list of amenities (www.redroofinn-pigeonforge.com). With the standard check in and check out time of 3 P.M. and 11 A.M. respectively, this hotel is categorized as a 3 star hotel. After staying one night you will realize that the rating this hotel gets is far below the quality of service they offer.

My last visit to the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Red Roof Inn was in February of 2007. We had booked three king rooms about 2 weeks in advance and were pleased to find our rooms ready and available when we arrived. The only problem with the room assignments was two of the rooms were on the 3rd floor while the last room was on the opposite side of the building on a different floor. Seeing how this is a common occurrence with any hotel it didn't bother us very much. The rooms are always extra clean with plenty of space to stretch out and lounge around after a day of adventure in the Smoky Mountains.

The staff at this hotel is the best of any hotel in the area. They are attentive to every need you may have. This hotel offers a 24 hour indoor pool which is hard to find with other hotels in the area. I believe we went to the pool every night during our trip. The trick to having the pool to yourself is going down between the hours of 10 P.M. and 1 A.M. For some reason this time frame seemed to always be the slowest. Before 10 P.M. the pool was crowded with small children and families. After 1 A.M. the older teenagers seemed to use it as a gathering place. Even with the 24 hour pool the hotel is surprisingly quiet and has a home away from home feeling to it.

The interior corridors are heated during the winter and air conditioned during the summer for a nice comfortable walk to your room. The electronic door locks can be quit cumbersome if you don't open the door right as the light turns green. However, this didn't seem to be a problem once we got use to them. The rates for this hotel during the off season are almost always below the standard rate of everything else in the area. During the peak season the rates are kept competitive with other hotels in the area so make sure to book your room in advance if visiting during holidays or the summer months. I highly recommend placing the Red Roof Inn at the top of your list of choices for accommodations during your next visit to the Smoky Mountains.
